Amazon’s Kindle for iPhone app: An e-book lover’s dream come true

Book lovers, like Tatin Yang, are finding a different way of enjoying the reading experience with e-books. As a certified bookworm, Tatin learned to love books at a young age. She was not that enthusiastic about reading electronic books until Amazon’s e-book reader Kindle came out. This device, at less than two inches thick, can hold up to approximately 1,500 books, giving access to a portable library anywhere. What makes it appealing to Tatin is the e-ink electronic display Kindle uses, which simulates the ink on paper appearance, thus the reading experience is more ‘natural’.

However, with the Kindle for iPhone app, her love affair with e-books is even rosier.
Now, aside from music, videos and games, I can read books off my iPhone. Even better, with a working mobile Internet connection, you can download samples of the e-book you’ve been eyeing, read a chapter or two, and then be able to purchase it right from your phone! It’s like having a bookstore and library wherever you are. Talk about a dream come true!
For Tatin, e-books don’t mean the death of the paper format. They just offer the convenience of “being able to read anywhere without the added bulk,” which to her is such a huge relief as she considers herself a pack rat.
