Forty years ago on July 16, Apollo 11 blasted off into space with astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins on a historic mission to the moon. They landed on the moon’s surface on July 20… and the rest is history.

This historic event is now remembered via the iPhone game app Apollo 11: The Game by Decode Interactive.
Promising to offer players a chance to relive the moments Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins made their way the satellite’s surface, the iPhone game features seven levels, and every aspect of the mission from launch to splashdown.

Players will be able to train for missions with the infamous Flying Bedstead, control a selection of spaceships using the accelerometer, extract the Lunar Module and perform the notoriously dangerous midcourse corrections.

Jean-Guy Niquet, technical lead at Decode Interactive said: “The moon landing is a defining moment in human history so we’re excited to be working with NASA on this project. Their collaboration is essential in developing a standout game that uses as much authentic detail possible to recreate the experience of man’s first trip to the moon.”
